Ray squeezed Ryan’s hand as they reset the bone, and let out a sigh, grinning a bit, at the older man’s comment. “Yeah? Good.” The worry was still in his voice, but there was much less of it than there was before.

“There’s gunna be a second x-ray for your head now, kay?” He moved a hand to rub Ryan’s shoulder. “They think there might be bone chips floating around in there..you might need surgery.”

Ryan’s eyes widened at the thought of surgery. The idea of someone poking around in his head while he was unconscious did not rest well with him. It might get rid of the pain, but Ryan still wasn’t sure. “Is it that bad?” he asked as they set him up for an x-ray.
